The Morgan Arts Council (MAC) recently received a grant from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts to conduct a series of business training classes
for artists as part of the Ice House Arts Incubator project.
The goal of the Incubator project is to enable artists to be more effective economically. We at MAC are very excited about this project which takes the
Arts Incubator concept beyond providing space and even beyond the boundaries of Morgan County.
Classes are held once a month from September 2007 through May 2008. Each class is six hours of instruction taking place over two days,
with the opening session from 2 - 5pm on the first day and from 9:30am - noon on the second day. For class dates, descriptions, and registration click

These artist business classes are based on input from a variety of sources, including survey information collected from more than 300 responses at WV Arts Assembly 2006. Also based on these surveys, it was determined that artists sought instruction from those who had actually done the work. So we sought out individuals throughout the state and region who we felt were among the best available. |
