The Morgan Arts Council Capital Campaign
Since its founding in 1977 the Morgan Arts Council (MAC) has
delivered over 300,000 direct art experiences benefitting youth
and adults, artists, visitors and the local community. It has been
integral in placing Berkeley Springs among the top 10 best art
destinations in the US as rated by American Style Magazine.
This evening of Art & Elegance will support the capital fund for
continuing work on the Ice House — the home of the award
winning MAC. Supported by local and regional artists who
donated juried art for this event, MAC will apply the funds from
this benefit toward a match required to draw down the
remainder of a facilities grant received from the West Virginia
Division of Culture and History. MAC has already raised more
than $250,000 as a match FOR this grant resulting in over
$500,000 of work being completed over the last five years.
We need to raise another $200,000 to be able to receive the
remaining $250,000 of the grant monies.
