AUDITIONS FOR ICE HOUSE THEATER
BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV ---- The Morgan Arts Council is holding auditions
for the Ice House Theater Project's production of "The Importance of
Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde. Auditions are scheduled for 6pm on
Wednesday and Thursday, February 24 and 25 at the Ice House.
Prospective actors may attend either audition.
There are parts for five males and four females and all are open to be
cast.
"Earnest" is a Victorian romantic farce with mistaken identities and
lots of laughs. "For all aspiring comedic actors, this is an
opportunity not to be missed," says Margi Griffiths, the show's
director. Griffiths outlines the needed actors as two young women and
two young men in their late 20s; two women and two men, middle aged;
a butler and a manservant. "This is an ideal play for this area,"
says Griffiths. "The two middle age women are Fairfaxes." Griffiths
also promises that everyone will love the costumes.
Rehearsals start in March. Performances are two weekends: April 22
through May 2 at the Ice House. The Ice House is located at
Independence and Mercer in downtown Berkeley Springs.
A rehearsal schedule will be available at the auditions. For more
information or to volunteer for technical or support work on this
play, call 258-2300.
