SWING AND BLUES IN PARK CONCERT

BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV --- Terence McArdle and Big Trouble flaunt their deep blues roots performing at the free concert in Berkeley Springs State Park on Saturday, July 17 at 5:30pm. There is a touch of swing and even a hint of be-bop in the sounds. Most of all, the concert is another tribute to dancing fans in Berkeley Springs -- they'll be on their feet. Produced by the Morgan Arts Council, the concert's rain location is the nearby Ice House.

They call it jump blues and McArdle is a master wielding a swinging guitar backed up by rough vocalizing and one of the best horn sections on the East Coast. The five-piece band produces a sound that is both retro and modern with a surprising depth. " We started BIG TROUBLE in 1992 as an alternative to all the bands that have given blues a bad name," says McArdle, "the ones that can't swing and have no real grounding in the music's history." Living up to his words, the band performs fresh interpretations of blues classics as well as original instrumentals.

The MAC Summer Concerts in the Park are sponsored by Carl M. Freeman Foundation. Additional funding for the free concert is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, West Virginia Commission on the Arts and local hotel/motel tax revenues.
