PUBLIC INVITED TO ICE HOUSE PRESENTATION

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito is presenting a check for $200,000
in federal development funds to the Morgan Arts Council (MAC) on
Monday, June 21 at 2pm at the Ice House. The funds which come from
the Department of Housing and Urban Development are targeted for
continued renovation of the former cold storage building into an art
and education center. The public is invited to join MAC members for
the presentation.

"These funds are being matched by a West Virginia Cultural Facilities
grant and revenues from the Art and Elegance fundraiser,," said Bob
Marggraf, chair of the Ice House Building Committee. "They will allow
us to make some dramatic advances in work on the building." Marggraf
listed elements on all four floors including bathrooms, stairs and
heating/air conditioning systems.

In addition to Capito's presentation, the brief event also launches
MAC's program for naming opportunities at the structure. "We'll
announce our first major naming at the event," said Jeanne Mozier,
Fundraising Committee chair and manager of the naming program. "This
method of fundraising allows MAC to thank major donors forever."

Recognition of Dr. William Lands and his FAST foundation for a
donation of computer equipment is another part of the event. "The
computers are used in MAC's video training program," said Mozier, "and
underline the importance of the Ice House and its programs for
economic development. Learning to use technology to create art is
useful work training."

The economic development value of the Ice House has proven itself in
the years since MAC acquired the structure from U.S. Silica in 1996
according to Mozier. "It's also obvious in the floor plans that will
be unveiled on Monday," she said. "There are thousands of square feet
marked for art retail, classrooms and studios."

House floor plans, visit the MAC website at www.macicehouse.org.
