CELLOS PLAY ROCK IN BERKELEY SPRINGS

BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV --- The free concert in Berkeley Springs State
Park on Saturday, August 1 at 5:30pm presents a most unusual and
unique musical experience. CelloFourte is a band of three young
academically trained cellists and a rock drummer who meld the genres
of classical music and rock for a high octane, original and organic
sound. Rain location for the concert is the Ice House.

Through their crossing of boundaries, Cellofourte is able to connect
with both classical and rock audiences. They have released two albums
and perform in venues as different as biker bars and as soloists with
the Pittsburgh Symphony Pops. When one of the cellists left this past
spring, the group added a drummer and unleashed a new vitality and
rhythmic drive to its already passionate and captivating music. “We
perform music that most people have never heard come from a cello, "
says Nicole Myers, one of the cellists.

The Morgan Arts Council's Summer Concerts in the Park are funded in
part by the National Endowment for the Arts, West Virginia Commission
on the Arts and local hotel/motel tax revenues. For more information
