AN ART HARVEST AT THE ICE HOUSE

BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV ---- Nature's bounty as captured by more than a
dozen artists is the theme of the new curated gallery show produced by
the Morgan Arts Council. "Bountiful Harvest" opens at the Ice House
Gallery on Friday, November 12 with an Artwalk that begins at 5pm.
The opening reception for the show starts at 7:30pm. The show hangs
through January 2, 2011. Gallery hours are Friday through Sunday from
11am to 4pm.

The Artwalk includes a reception at Mountain Laurel Gallery from 5 to
7:30pm.

"It's time for holiday shopping," said Jane Frenke, gallery committee
member who helped assemble the show, "and we wanted to showcase local
art that is both beautiful and useful."
Popular fabric items include comforters from Rosemary Bigelow and
table dressings from Margaret Babb. Among the two dimensional art is
a Mail Pouch barn painting from Earle Andrews, food-related prints and
paintings from Jan and Jonathan Heath and vegetable paintings from
Mary Klotz that look good enough to eat. There are also pieces in
metal and clay.

Not all the artists in the show are from Morgan County. Jeanne Scott
is a potter from Missouri who's functional tableware has been a
popular donation to Arts and Elegance. "We're delighted to show more
of her work including casseroles, platters and goblets," said Frenke.

"Bountiful Harvest" is funded in part by the National Endowment for
the Arts, West Virginia Commission on the Arts and hotel taxes from
town and county. The Ice House is located at Independence and Mercer
in downtown Berkeley Springs. For more information call 304-258-2300
or check online at www.macicehouse.org.
