HOLIDAY PLAYS, MUSIC AND DESSERT AT THE ICE HOUSE
BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV ---- Five short Christmas-themed plays, each with
a fledgling director, are served up along with lavish desserts at the
Morgan Arts Council's (MAC) holiday theater production, Christmas
Vignettes, on Thursday through Sunday, December 10-13 at the Ice
House. Adding to the festivities is a performance each night by a
local musical group as an opening act to the plays. "There are only
four shows of this extravaganza," said Brice Williams, who is acting as
executive director for the event along with Margi Griffiths, "so folks
need to reserve their tickets early. This will be sold-out." Showtimes
are 7:30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.
"We're very excited about having the musical groups engaged with the
Ice House Theater Project performances," said Griffiths. Thursday and
Saturday, the musical first act is the Victorian Carolers, a Berkeley
Springs High School Vocal Ensemble. Friday is the Sleepy Creek
Children's Choir and Sunday is the Springs Chamber Ensemble. Music
during the dessert portion of the evening is provided by Walker
Williams.
Nearly 30 cast members including several entire families populate the
five theater vignettes. The playlets are all humorous and include as
characters everyone from Santa and Mama Claus to Abraham Lincoln and a
selection of gnomes, elves and fairies. "There is something -- and
someone -- for everyone to enjoy," said Williams. The play vignettes
are: Revenge of the Gingerbread Boy, Clausarella, My FedEx Christmas
Request, Santa vs the Garden Gnomes, and Grandma Remembers.
Directors are Neil Heard, Pam Mann, Natalie Smith, Dia Griffiths and
Brice Williams.
Mountain View Solar and Wind is the exclusive sponsor in memory of
Bruce Robey. To make reservations, call the theater hotline at
