FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- 11/20/08 BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV ---- The Ice House Theater Project announces a brainstorming session to propose and discuss future productions by the group on Wednesday, December 3 at 5:30pm at the Ice House in Berkeley Springs. The Theater Project is an activity of the Morgan Arts Council and has been staging from 2 to 6 productions a year since 1999 including musicals and Shakespeare.
"Our community theater effort is looking for new directors, assistant directors, actors and suggestions about plays to be staged as well as the backstage and technical crew that makes it all happen," said Mary Hott, MAC's Executive Director. "This session is just the first step."Hott announced that MAC is conducting a director's workshop on Friday evening and Saturday morning, January 9 and 10. Mark Kittlaus, head of the acting department at Shenandoah University in Winchester is giving the workshop. It is aimed at both new and experienced directors.
Anyone interested in the theater project is invited to attend the brainstorming meeting. "We welcome people who have never been involved with theater at the Ice House as well as longtime supporters," said Hott. "We know there are actors, playwrights and backstage folks out there who have ideas about plays. We are also hoping to see new faces."
