Peace Jamboree at Ice House

BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV ----The first performance experience of the Morgan Arts Council's Peace Month is a free Peace Jamboree on Friday, September 11 at 7pm on the second floor of the Ice House. The Jamboree features performances by a wide range of professional musicians including Sam and Joe Herrmann, The Shifters, Gordon Macleod and Jonathan McBee, Jim Fredo, Pete Gordon, Mary Hott and Jim Salman and others. "We'll also have drumming and people reading their poetry," says ragtime, curator of the "bringing peace home" special gallery show which is the centerpiece of the monthlong celebration.

In addition to the art, the local community is providing an array of organic foods. "Even the pastries are organic," says Kat Braun who is collaborating on the art show. Peace Coffee of Minnesota is also being served.

The special gallery show hangs through October 4. Gallery hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm. The gallery will be open during the Peace Jamboree on Friday evening as well. The Ice House is located on Independence and Mercer in downtown Berkeley Springs. For more information, call 304-258-2300 or check online at www.macicehouse.org
