VIDEO PRODUCTION WORKSHOP IN BERKELEY SPRINGS

BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV ---- A video production workshop series for all
ages concludes at the Ice House in Berkeley Springs on Tuesday, June
30 at 6pm. "People are invited to come even if they didn't attend
either of the first two," says Jennie Mallory, the Morgan Arts
Council's administrator. Shamus Cleveland is the instructor.

The final production workshop is aimed at applying focus and polish to
ideas in preparation for attendees to enter the Very Fast Video
Contest sponsored by FAST (The Morgan County Forum on Arts, Sciences
and Technology) with a deadline of July 18. Tuition is free for
contest entrants. "People should bring their videos and plan to come
early and stay late," says Bill Lands who founded FAST. According to
Lands, instructors demonstrate various computer tools, give feedback
and answer any questions videomakers may have. "Even if video makers
do not enter the contest, they can benefit from the skills they'll
learn," says Lands.

The Morgan Arts Council (MAC) is conducting the video workshops as a
collaboration with FAST. “We hope to boost entries in the contest by
making it easy for people to create their 40 to 120 second videos,”
says Mallory. “We’re pleased that so many fathers and sons are
working on projects together."

Equipment required for the class includes either a video camera or
computer with Power Point capacity.

The FAST video contest is part of the Morgan County Fair. It offers
$1200 in cash awards for very short videos in categories including
arts, sciences, technology and social studies. There are plans to
make the videos the core of a future virtual museum called Paradox
Place.
