Back to Our Roots 2009 year

MAC has been developing some wonderful information on Morgan County musicians during our yearlong Back to our Roots project. These stories continue to unfold and some will debut in the Musical Family Trees exhibit at the Ice House the night of the concert.

But what is a music project without the music? So...we are assembling a selection of Morgan County musicians playing everything from bluegrass to gospel to traditional country. There is even a piano rendition of mid-19th century Morgan County sheet music.

The Fleegle/Revell bluegrass and banjo dynasty will be performing along with Paw Paw gospel and country blues musician Carl Spencer. Host John Douglas and musical host Joe Herrmann will be chatting with our musical guests and playing some old tunes. WV Country Music Hall of Fame founder Jim McCoy will be there telling stories. Stay tuned for additional names as we lure them back on stage for a memorable Morgan County roots music concert.
